In today’s SMC outlook I break down the key price action across the DXY, EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, and gold, including the imbalances, changes of character, and key regions I’m watching for potential setups. The DXY has printed a bearish change of character on the 4-hour chart following last week’s selloff and gap down. However, the daily timeframe still shows a significant bullish change of character after acceptance above prior highs, which suggests the current pullback could simply be a retracement into a major imbalance near 98.50–98.60 before the next move higher. For EURUSD, the daily chart recently flipped bearish with a clean change of character, which is the first one in over a year. That doesn’t mean the euro is an immediate sell though. I’m watching for price to move into premium, potentially filling the open gap and mitigating the imbalance before looking for a lower-timeframe change of character to confirm shorts. GBPUSD remains weaker than the euro and continues to trade inside a sideways range without a confirmed change of character above the key highs. AUDUSD recently printed a bearish change of character on the 4-hour chart and is now trading in premium within the OTE region. However, with the DXY potentially pushing lower first, patience is key before looking for confirmation. Gold has mostly moved sideways since the start of April. The shallow retracement after the recent displacement lower leaves some questions about whether the previous high truly marked a change of character, so for now this market remains mostly range-bound.
